Thinking of you,

A Sweet Little Tip and Tidbit
As many of you know, my daughter got married on April 22nd! What a fun year of wedding planning and events. We all practiced what I teach, and as I always tell you, support is an essential part of managing stress. My techniques, tips & do's and don'ts proved so valuable and kept us all on the happiness track!

Here's a little personal Bridal Shower story including a delicious tip. Hope you will pick up an exciting idea or two!

The Bridal Shower was February 11 (the only winter snowstorm aka as the blizzard of 2006! In spite of the weather, 60 women of all ages gathered from near and far on a Saturday evening. The Shower was joyous and fun and loved by all, most importantly, The Bride to Be!

Planning the Bridal Shower with my daughter's Maid of Honor and Bridal Party (family and friends generously contributed their financial support), we let my daughter tell us when & where she wanted to have her Bridal Shower. She loves planning parties and has the best ideas. Oh, we also let her choose and design the invitations. Then, as her Maid of Honor reminded her, the rest was a surprise.

I must admit that we all rely on my daughter's creativity, know how and advice on shopping trends. She has an up to date database and knows the best websites, stores, and products. The hardest part of planning was that we could not ask her for suggestions!

Her MOH chose the theme and we went into planning mode. We ordered the decorations and gifts for the Bride to be (oops, the customized party favors were my daughter's idea as well).

As we were devising the menu, I remembered that my daughter loved Twinkies and told me about a celebrity party that served Twinkies as dessert! Trying to manage our time, the one essential item we left till the last minute was trying to locate a NYC supermarket that had at least 25 boxes of Twinkies (10 to a box). It seems that New Yorkers love Twinkies as well. We were not having much luck!

How fortunate for me that her MOH is so smart, organized and Google gifted...she can find anything in a "...click of the finger"! She located the PR company that represents Twinkies (hostesscakes.com), emailed me the phone number, and I immediately called up with an SOS. And can you imagine that I found my TWINKERBELLE! The publicist for the account took my call, understood our dilemma and sent over 30 boxes of Twinkies. She emailed us bridal shower and wedding cake Twinkie recipes and favor ideas as well.

The epilogue is that the Twinkies were the icing on the cake! They were the hit of the menu. We also served make your own sundaes...can you imagine how yummy? Even those of us who watch our waistlines indulged in these dreamy little pleasures! They created to quite a buzz and made everyone smile and exchange stories of their childhood! Hope you enjoy these Twinkie wedding and bridal shower ideas and links. And if you have any questions, just email!

Fun & Fitness....

Plan your route and think about walking from store to store when going Bridal Gown Shopping (so take your comfy shoes along). My daughter and I did this when going from department store to Bridal Atelier to Wedding Boutique! We reenergized and felt great by the end of the day!

And put on those new wedding white sneakers (replace with your favorite color laces) and jog when doing wedding errands! Recommneded for Moms of the Bride as well! I burnt some calories last week walking/jogging to meet my daughter at a new wedding shoe store. In fact, my daughter, the bride to be & I think we lost a pound since we continued her wedding errands walking from Midtown to Soho!
